Cultural fairs: two appointments in Paris during spring 2016

Located in the Porte de Versailles district of Paris, the Hotel de la Paix provides an ideal base for trade fair visitors during this spring of 2016. The exhibition centre, less than a kilometre away, will play host to Livre Paris, the internationally renowned book fair, from March 17th to 20th. Then the celebration of contemporary art known as the Art Paris Art Fair will take place from March 31st to April 3rd at the Grand Palais, just 15 minutes from the hotel.

The Paris Book Fair doesn’t hesitate to innovate, to the delight of its 190,000 annual visitors. A few days before the opening at Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles, the 36th edition begins with free exhibitions, workshops and a literary walk on the banks of the Seine; an original initiative sure to make this event even more popular. From Thursday to Sunday, the exhibition centre will host 1,200 publishers, more than 50 nations, and thousands of signings. It’s an opportunity to meet writers and immerse yourself in hallyu, the cultural wave born in South Korea, this year’s guest of honour country.
Thursday morning is reserved for professionals. The public are invited in the afternoon and evening until 22:00; Friday and Saturday 10:00 to 20:00; Sunday 10:00 to 19:00.
Art Paris Art Fair at the Grand Palais from March 30th to April 3rd
An essential part of the arts calendar, the Art Paris Art Fair awaits its guests beneath the glass dome of the Grand Palais. More than 6000 m2 of space is dedicated to galleries and artists from 20 countries. This show focuses on contemporary art in all its manifestations. During five days you’ll see the work of rising talents and established artists, a celebration of South Korean art and a focus on digital mapping and video art.
